WATERBURY HOSPITAL EARNS NATIONAL DISTINCTIONS FOR TREATMENT OF DIABETES, HEART ARRYTHMIA AND PHNEUMONIA

Waterbury Hospital has been named a High Performing Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for the quality of care it provides to patients with Diabetes, Heart Arrhythmia, and Pneumonia, according to the recently released 2025–26 Best Hospitals rankings.

This recognition is among the most respected distinctions in U.S. hospital performance, reflecting exceptional outcomes, patient experience, and clinical excellence across key conditions and procedures. Waterbury Hospital’s inclusion in this year’s report places it among an elite group of hospitals nationwide.

U.S. News & World Report evaluates more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide across 15 specialties and multiple common conditions. Rankings are based on objective measures including patient outcomes, volume, experience, and quality indicators drawn from Medicare data and other reputable sources.

In 2025 Waterbury HEALTH has earned several accolades and quality awards including being ranked 114th in the nation by Lown Institute, among the nation’s top 4 percent with an “A” grade in social responsibility, along with A grades in clinical outcomes, cost efficiency, pay equity, and inclusivity. In addition, Waterbury Hospital earned American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target Stroke Honor Roll and Diabetes Honor roll, the highest level for this award and a testament to excellent care for stroke patients.
