Daniel E. Kleiner, MD, FACS

Dr. Daniel E. Kleiner is board certified in general surgery specializing in minimally invasive hepatobiliary, pancreatic and complex upper GI procedures.
Dr. Kleiner received his medical degree from the University of Newcastle Medical School in Australia and completed his residency training in general surgery at the University of Virginia. He also completed a minimally invasive fellowship at the University of Virginia and a Hepatobiliary and Upper Gastrointestinal Fellowship at the Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Kleiner has been a practicing surgeon in Danbury since 2013. He is skilled in hepatic, pancreatic and biliary surgery and gastric procedures including: Whipple, major hepatectomy, bile duct resection and reconstruction, pancreatic drainage procedures and total gastrectomy.
Dr. Kleiner is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Kleiner has a passion for educating surgical residents and medical students and has a particular interest in surgical research and the development of innovative surgical devices. He has several surgical device patents, as well as others that are pending approval.
